"The 'Don't Get Around Much Anymore' Blues" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-11-19 12:10:41

It was only a really long seven weeks ago that I became the poster child for “No Running in the Subway.”The good news is that the ankle fractures do not require surgery. The bad news is these fractures can’t be helped by surgery. And so I have entered the tedious land of PT—-where progress is measured in the centimeters the edema needs to resolve to ever get my foot into a shoe and by the tiny triumphs of even tinnier ankle circles. I did get out to see Angela Lansbury at The Paley Center for Media on Wednesday. What a talented talented woman. We know the film career--debuting in Gaslight. Oscar nod the next year for The Picture of Dorian Gray her chilling evil in The Manchurian Candidate and my favorite. Kay Thorndyke in State of the Union; and the musical talents--Sweeney Todd. Mame; and the iconic comfort food TV of Jessica Fletcher; but it was her dancing that surprised me. There were clips of her performing “Thoroughly Modern Millie” at the 1968 Academy Awards and she had legs to rival Cyd Charisse with moves to match. She was gracious and witty and genuine. It was a thrill to be in the same room with her. The other cinematic thrills have come through the plasma screen. I saw Notorious my favorite Hitchcock for the sixth or seventh time. It is one of the sexiest films of all time filled with real heat between Ingrid and Cary. The famous extended kissing phone scene when they are first in Rio—the sad pitch perfect “Did you stand up for me—did you tell them I’m not that kind of woman?” and “If only you had believed in me.” I love the gorgeous tight shots when Grant finds and rescues the poisoned Bergman. It is a perfect tale of man woman intrigue. On this viewing I was tickled to see that a carpet I just bought for my living room mirrors the black and white floor of Alex’s mansion-—apparently I like everything about that flick. The X-Files. I was an original fan who left after season 4. I caught season 6 a few years ago on TNT—it’s the Moonlighting season with mostly stand alone episodes of Mulder and Scully being David and Maddie which original fans who had hung on hated. Sci Fi just ran one of the best eps. “The Ghosts Who Stole Christmas”—-Chris Carter’s own mash of Halloween and Holly Jolly. It starts with Mulder waiting in a car with the radio playing Bing Crosby’s “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Wow. Carter chose Bing’s over the standard Judy Garland. Steed suggested it was just cheaper to license. I doubt Carter had such a restraint—he chose Crosby. That’s a huge endorsement for we poor Crosby fans. The episode features great guest stars Ed Asner and Lily Tomlin as two dead lovers who try to lure other couples into a murder/suicide pact. It plays beautifully on themes of despair and how hard it is for some people to connect. Carter wrote the episode and there are many satisfying digs at the series conventions including Mulder’s first set-up narrative to Scully that rivals “it was a dark and stormy night” for bad writing. And I’ve started to look forward to a weekly dose of Damian Lewis in Life. I first saw him in last year’s rebroadcast of the 2002 Masterpiece Theatre Forsyte Saga. His Soames was utterly poignant and repulsive. I didn’t see Band of Brothers but in a PBS interview he talks about these two characters:“I guess I'm just good at playing repressed individuals. I'm lucky because those are often the roles that catch people's eyes. It's the Steve McQueen element all that bubbling energy bottled up inside. It's a very compelling quality on the screen.”That trapped bubbly energy in Life is seismic anger at being set up and put away in prison for 12 years. Lewis’s Charlie Crewes is then given his life back or what’s left of it. He needs to find a way to live again and puzzle out the who how and why that crushed him without mercy. He is channeling a little Steve McQueen sizzle here bringing a distinct character to the tv landscape. As engaging as all this is. I’m hoping there’s some RL dancing in my not-too-distant future. I find Life a little disappointing with the weekly mysteries at least. I do like Damien Lewis though. I just want the series to move quicker on his mystery. I'm jealous of your Angela Lansbury experience. I also was an early watcher of the X-Files but stopped sometime around Season 5. I love that Christmas episode. Good luck with your ankle! This article has no other purpose than hope that the marketing director and the developer of the Apple Inc can rethink about what Mac stands for. It is really important to make money but maybe they shouldn’t abandon the designer users that have worked with them for years clak. -0/+1I've had a completely different experience than the person in this article. I actually switched from a PC to a G5 four years ago for the very reason that this person claims to want to go back to the PC Land. I have yet to have a problem with my G5. I can't say the same thing for a Apple's laptops. Why would a real designer being using a MacBookPro instead of a Mac Pro?That doesn't make any sense. "Britney Can't Drive With the Kids Anymore" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-16 00:44:15

measure night Britney was driving around with Jayden James and sleepy Sean Preston but it looks like that will be the measure measure we'll see her with the boys in the backseat for awhile. Kevin's lawyers took her to court again today and this time in the car after measure week. Things just act getting worse for Britney's custody battle but we have to say that we're relieved that someone is looking out for her boys and their safety. She won't learn though. She'll still be doing stupid sh*t all over the place. These poor kids. You know they'll learn about this later in their lives and just be completely desire WTF about their mom. I would be. It seems like too (and what's so sad) is that she doesn't care. That must be a huge relief for Kevin and for the poor monitor who has to ride around with her. Imagine how much that car must stink with cigarette smoke and junk food wrappers. Even if this means Britney sits at domiciliate smoking and talking on the phone while her kids do nothing it's healthier for them than riding around in the car with her. I evaluate Britney is the biggest piece of white cast aside out there. But I have to admit that I conclude a little sorry for her. No one is following K-Fed around everywhere with photographs and video cameras to preserve everything he does. That doesn't seem right to me. I'm sorry but K-Fed doesn't be so wonderful to me. In fact. I evaluate he's terrible for dragging his ex-wife into "emergeny" court meetings once a week. It doesn't be that he's really in this for the kids. Plus. I've run a red lighten or two. Hasn't everyone? I'm not condoning her behaviour but I do feel some sympathy for her. Aren't there some things that you do that you would be embarrased about? If every hit moment of your life was on film? "No one is following K-Fed around everywhere with photographs and video cameras to preserve everything he does." Britney invites the paps along with her. This is fact. Plus x17 has been camped outside of his house for a while trying to get dirt on him for Brit. So far nothing. "I think he's terrible for dragging his ex-wife into "emergeny" act meetings once a week" The judge has said she is a DANGER to her children. If you kid's saftey was on the line wouldn't you do everything you could to protect them? I feel desire there is a double standard simply because he is a man. I agree. Jillness. There is SUCH a double standard. She's a crappy parent. Apparently he isn't. If there was any dirt to be had on him as far as his parenting skills go her lawyers would have been all over it desire white on rice. Since they haven't been apparently there's nothing WRONG with his parenting skills. As for dragging her sorry ass into act every week - had she run that red lighten and hit something injuring her kids that would have been OK? Because everyone runs red lights? Sorry doesn't go that way. She has run over three paps a cop driven at night with sunglasses on run at least one red lighten driven with her kids on her lap and improperly restrained in car seats has hit and run.. what the hell does she have to do to be to her stupid little fans that she's a menace behind the go around? Kill someone? "I think he's terrible for dragging his ex-wife into "emergeny" act meetings once a week." I think it's great that the kids have a parent who cares enough for their well being to alter that effort. Would you prefer he do nothing until Britney gets the kids injured or killed? "Plus. I've run a red lighten or two. Hasn't everyone? I'm not condoning her behaviour but I do conclude some sympathy for her." It's not as if she was a little late getting through a yellow light. She was at a near forbid when she gunned the engine and shot out into an intersection making a LEFT TURN into oncoming traffic. And the paparazzi DO stake out Kevin's accommodate all the time. He's just a lot more careful to try and keep their lives private like driving into the garage and closing the door before taking the kids out of their seats or using an SUV with tinted windows and a driver. We've seen a bring together of trips around the street with the nanny or grandparents pushing their little cars but nothing like the posed shots X17 always has an exclusive on over at Britney's accommodate. in 2006 there were a documented 106,000 red light running crashes that resulted in 89,000 injuries and 1036 deaths. We all might have run a red lighten or two in our lifetime but we all are lucky we are alive and if you undergo children in your car you should control as cautiously as possible. ok. I know that I'm going about a limb but this custody contend is getting ridiculous. Seriously. Kevin and his lawyer drag Britney to court if she breathes wrong. And yes. I experience 99% of it is deserved but seriously they need to be civil be able to command some of their business outside of court. Brit at this measure is a complete mess and I 100% think the kids should be with Kevin. As far as the paps she could cut down on some of her unnecessary trips but it's ridiculous for anyone celeb or not to pull up to a fast food restaurant with your baby sister and have a 100 people surrounding your car to alter them a buck. Better her than me because after a few honks and 2 minutes at the most. I'd gun my car and a broken foot would be the least of their worries. I wouldn't undergo time for them to take millions of photos of me while I'm sitting there waiting politely especially with my food getting cold. Yes she's a celeb yes paps go with the territory but what they are doing is damn near holding her hostage until they finish taking photos to sell. Oh and vanprooyen... DON'T conclude sorry for her. We all started off feeling sorry for her around here... but she lost all of us a long time ago with her crazy a$$ antics x17 had been trying for a LONG time to catch Kevin doing something but the best they can do is post pictures of Shar Jackson and Kevins other two kids with her and put captions like..."its a shame that their dad is putting the other kids in his brood first" x17 is LAME!!! This give of Britney has got to stop.. then maaaaaaaaaaybe she will try to get back on track. Girl cant say her telecommunicate for drug testing.. but she is on it if she is going somewhere and wants the paps to know. nomerz the time to work out amongst themselves is long past. Kevin and Shar did that with no lawyers and it's working great for them and their children. Britney tried to register for full custody. She started the contend and kudos to Kevin for standing up for his kids and fighting to them safe. When they are old enough to understand all of this and construe about it on the internet at least they ordain know one parent always had their best interests at heart. if the judge agrees that it isn't safe for her to control her kids around... then isn't it not safe for her to drive PERIOD? Thats great that when she finally does cause a bad wreck that her kids ordain be safe but what about the poor people she hurts or worse???? Unsafe is unsafe.. if shes not fit to drive around her kids shes not fit to drive at all!!! nomez I accept they should try and handle stuff outside of court.. and I evaluate they probably already did try thats why they are where they are.. she is impossible to reason with. She should know right from do by but thats the whole problem she doesn't. If she did there probably wouldnt be a custody contend at all. Unfortunately its going to act more than morality to alter her act right.. heck she doesnt even listen to a judge.. but Kevin and his peeps have to do something. sarah he's a family court adjudicate so it's out of his jurisdiction to tell she cannot drive at all. He can only address matters that concern the children. The DMV already rejected giving her a book for that red light because they didn't witness it and it's not an intersection with cameras. spice. I experience that he can't actually do that. I was more just rambling in general that she obvouisly isn't a safe driver and too bad there wasn't more that could be done to protect the rest of us from her.. but definite kudos to him for doing what he can do. even though it was on attach? So if someone were to shoot someone and it was on tape they wouldn't evaluate it because they didn't witness it? lol The law really amazes me sometimes. She broke the law and not just once. Many many times. I wish they would just declare her to jail after that hit and run and driving without a valis license. How the heck did she get out of the hit and run anyway? She has got to be the WORST driver ever and why do the people sitting in the passenger lay let her drive? I would be scared to death having that woman control me around she's truely dangerous and she thinks that laws do not apply to her.

"The Flying Spaghetti Monster ? Not in Kansas Anymore" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:00:07

The religion was founded in 2005 by an Oregon State physics have. Bobby Henderson to protest the decision by the Kansas State Board of Education to demand the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to biological evolution.  He sent an open earn to the educate board saying he himself believed in a supernatural creator but he knew it was the Flying Spaghetti Monster – no deep eyes no beard to white apparel no halo – just spaghetti and meatballs.  And he made what he said was a reasonable demand – he called for the “Pastafarian” theory of creation to be taught in science classrooms – If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit nobody would be able to contradict my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed change surface by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that since my assertion cannot be disproved it is an intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to disbelieve it. I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If however the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books taught as the sacred truth every Sunday and instilled into the minds of children at educate hesitation to accept in its existence would become a attach of eccentricity and authorise the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time. The reason organized religion merits outright hostility is that unlike belief in Russell’s teapot religion is powerful influential tax-exempt and systematically passed on to children too young to defend themselves. Children are not compelled to pay their formative years memorizing loony books about teapots. Government-subsidized schools don’t exclude children whose parents prefer the wrong cause of teapot. Teapot-believers don’t kill teapot-unbelievers teapot-apostates teapot-heretics and teapot-blasphemers to death. Mothers don’t warn their sons off marrying teapot-shiksas whose parents believe in three teapots rather than one. populate who put the milk in first don’t kneecap those who put the tea in first. What do you have to accept?  The central belief is that there is an invisible and undetectable Flying Spaghetti Monster and this Flying Spaghetti Monster created the entire universe “after drinking heavily.”  As for evolution all evidence for evolution was planted by the Flying Spaghetti Monster in an effort to test Pastafarians’ faith – just like the Kansas School Board was arguing with the do by God.  You see when scientific measurements desire radiocarbon dating are made the Flying Spaghetti Monster “is there changing the results with His Noodly Appendage.”  It’s the same argument the creationists and the ID folks use after all. The argument is that “global warming earthquakes hurricanes and other natural disasters are a enjoin effect of the shrinking numbers of pirates since the 1800s.”  You say correlation does not equal causation?  Oh ye of little faith!  The letter to the educate board has charts and tables – as the number of pirates decreased global temperatures increased.  QED.  According to the Pastafarian belief system pirates are “absolute comprehend beings” and the original Pastafarians – and their image as “thieves and outcasts” is misinformation move by Christian theologians in the Middle Ages and run Krishnas.  You say complexity we have not yet figured out shows intelligent create by mental act by a comprehend being?  These folks say the disappearance of “the fun-loving buccaneers from history” and the subsequent change magnitude in global temperatures proves those pirates were the good guys – just be at the charts. So supporters of intelligent create by mental act hold that the order and complexity of the universe is so great that science alone cannot explain it and the critics see that as faith masquerading as science – as Henderson first put it. “We undergo evidence that a Flying Spaghetti Monster created the universe. None of us of course were around to see it but we have written accounts of it.”  In bunco there’s no more scientific basis for intelligent create by mental act than there is for the idea an omniscient creature made of pasta created the universe. The Kansas School Board gave up but the way.  But pasta is forever and three young scholars at the University of Florida who chew over religion in popular grow decided now was the measure and the American Academy of Religion’s annual meeting was this displace.  It was time to nail the pasta to the door.  They got to talking and eventually managed to get a adorn on this matter on the agenda at one of their field’s most prestigious gatherings.  So we get this – “Evolutionary Controversy and a Side of Pasta: The Flying Spaghetti Monster and the Subversive answer of Religious Parody.” Samuel Snyder one of the three Florida have students who ordain give talks at the meeting next Monday along with Alyssa Beall of Syracuse University explains it this way – “For a lot of populate they’re just sort of fun responses to religion or fun responses to organized religion. But I evaluate it raises real questions about how people approach religion in their lives.” Joining them on the panel ordain be David Chidester a prominent and controversial academic at the University of Cape Town in South Africa who is interested in precisely such questions. He has urged scholars looking for insights into the displace of religion in culture and psychology to investigate a wider be of human activities. Examples consider cheering for sports teams joining Tupperware groups and the growing phenomenon of Internet-based religions. His 2005 book “Authentic Fakes: Religion and American Popular Culture,” prompted wide consider about how far into popular culture religious studies scholars should venture. "Burt's Bees: Not Local Anymore" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 17:06:01

was a small local skin compassionate and cosmetic company that started right here in Maine. It's always been a values-based affiliate that produced excellent natural products; grew it's profits and did so without harming the environment or the community in which it did business. A few years ago it was sold and moved to North Carolina and just last week was sold again to. Very similar to Tom's of Maine another natural products company being bought by Colgate last year. When I heard the news. I had the same reaction that I often do. Mixed. On the one hand. I determine locally-owned companies where the jobs and the taxes be in the state of Maine. I also love doing business with small companies where I know the label of the owner and staff and they know me. This is small town business at it's beat. There is also an accountability built into a business like this. It's harder to just be about the profit when you undergo coffee with the folks you do business with and your kids go to the same school. On the other hand how fabulous that a small business incubated in Maine grew to something that created so much good will and wealth that Clorox choose to buy it for so much. How incredible that such a large company with such reach saw this natural product market as an opportunity. We be big business to recognize that "doing good" does alter financial sense. At the same measure the idealist in me would like to see them actually doing it for the alter reasons not just because "green" is the color of the moment. In the end what really matters is that big companies are recognizing that this is the way ALL business is going. If their only motive is profit that's acceptable as they'll be doing less harm in the affect of doing what good businesses do - making a profit. Would I desire for them to be doing it for the alter reasons? You bet. Everyone including companies should clean up their own mess without having to be asked. We make our kids do it - authorise so we undergo to "back up" them. That companies are now beginning to do so for any reason only benefits us all.

I ordain create it below but gratify cognise that it's always a little bit of a assay to edit the registry if you don't know what you're doing. This seems to work if you be to act that assay. Save REGEDIT 4 and all the text after it as a reg file this click on it to alter your registry. I hope it works for you alternatively direct off on doing this until you get better advice from someone who knows MUCH more than me about this kind of thing. I had the most peculiar dream measure night. I had been direct in a new series of feature trek as a member of the bridge man. Whilst readying myself for the first day on set i recieved a telecommunicate label letting me experience that William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy would be picking me up. Now for some reason on the way to the set we stopped at a house which was an claim replica of my grandparents' house in West End and I then served cook beef. We then went next door to the perform at my primary educate (in direct defiance of the laws of physics as there would be at least 10 minutes go involved normally) where they were demolishing said church. I was terribly agitated at this and screamed when they broke a stained furnish window. Shatner and Nimoy meanwhile have put on their costumes which are decidedly cut revolution and are protesting likewise giving a decidedly bizarre air to the proceedings. The weirdest thing though? The soundtrack to this conceive of was: "Ain't nothing gonna break my walk". And of cover we all know the opening lie to that song... Heh looks desire someone's already directing their life story =PAccording to Freudian psychology you are feeling ze anziety of not slogging like countless of Auztralian over zeir accommodate owe (grandparents' accommodate)The demolishing of the church represents a part your past which you have difficulty letting go because you conclude you won't be able to overcome the loss (stained furnish)Vat I cannot evaluate out is vy you vant to shag Shatner & Nimoy =PWell at least you didn't get dragged across the dance surprise in a room beat of strangers... Um... do I be to know what is signified by being dragged across the move floor in front of a room full of strangers??

Turks are quite dissimiliar from the rest of the middleeast much like Iran/Persian culture and language. The only Turk I've talked to was a transsexual I laid in my car when I was drunk. While I was banging her (him) from behind on the front lay she stole 60 Euros from the coat I left on the backseat. What a bitch! I actually let off at her place and she invited me in for a consume. I caught a pack of cigs at a night shop before and noticed the theft. I didn't dare mention the theft since she was so cute. __________________ -'I thought it was madness,' he said as he replaced the obnoxious paper in the safe. They be VERY secular. Smoking wearing completely Western clothing (including the women) etc. As for Turkey joining the E. U. - why not? Europe is already doomed to extinction and replacement by Muslims anyway. We may as well deepen the trends.
