Since this is a Windows machine it is KAIO-only so NUMAIOVPS shouldtypicallyremain at 1 unless you are doing a lot of non-chunk writes (desire toSQEXPLAINfiles and online log). Also consider upgrading the IDS version to take favor of newerperformancefeatures and avoiding end of support for 7.31. You could increase BUFFERS (to 100000 minimum) and NUMCPUVPS (to 4minimum) set MULTIPROCESSOR to 1 and SINGLE_CPU_VP to 0 to make use of the multiprocessing. NUMAIOVPS should be higher (4 recommended forLogging plus one per chunk if the machine does not support KAIO). If this is a dedicated server memory values can even be higher butnotuntil you get into swapping ;). How many Shared memory segments are being used on the old machine(onstat -g seg) ? If more than one in class V increase SHMVIRTSIZE. have newer harddisks in the system (which I speculate) this should havealso a good effect. The config you have is not very huge so I would expect the same number of users as on the old machine would have very good response times. If the number of users increases at the same time you should alsoincrease LOCKS maybe STACKSIZE to 64 or 128. #**************************************************************************## INFORMIX SOFTWARE. They told me that TM was taking a lot of memory because it was interacting with The Annonymizer software that I had installed. So I unistalled it. The computer comfort loaded very slowly so I started looking around on the internet and by chance was looking at my "hosts" register location and discovered those two files in the affix call. When deleted they immediately return and if you open them they appear to be copies of the hosts register. I commented out the lines in the files but I want to be rid of them. Then I found this site and proceeded to follow all of the "Read & Run Me First" steps. Ccleaner - cleaned up a bunch of stuff - but could not clean under "Admin" couldn't change surface get in. So I cleaned the two profiles in safe mode. Not much there to be cleanedSpyBot - 1 or 2 cookies cleaned off (surprisingly clean!) TrendMicro has a problem with SpyBot too - so did not immunize the computer. Well. I did at first and then undid according to TMs instructionsAVG Anti-Spyware - nothing foundBitdefender - nothing open - but now I keep getting ActiveX changes from their website caught by TrendMicroPanda ActiveScan - two spyware cookies - the standard doubleclick and tribalfusionRan the runkeys and newfiles - ordain connect logsThen downloaded the new HijackThisv2 - but did as suggested and renamed the executable to analyse exe and ran. Will attach log. As for system regenerate - it may be on but I just haven't bothered to figure out how to use it so I wouldn't use it for a system restore anyway. I lay and uninstall so much stuff that I let go track. Perhaps I should look into using this in the future (or a cloning software) I was having a hard time running stuff in safe mode - driver problems - using video drivers that aren't "official" - from trying to use a widescreen monitor with a Vaio laptop. Anyway... I wish that you can help. Also one file that takes a lot of Mem usages alter now is the rundll32 exe - I don't think that it did before. "Version history of the CLR 2.0" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 16:05:55

These postings are provided as is with no warranties and confers no rights. Additionally views expressed herein are my own and not those of my employer. Microsoft. Following on from my summarised below are the Common Language Runtime (CLR) 2.0 major releases and hotfixes in version be order. ASP. NET is a hungry consumer of the CLR services such as threadpool garbage collection etc. Therefore many of the problems we see customers experience in production ASP. NET applications are the result of issues in the CLR - many of which we have already fixed. So it is always worth considering what patches you currently have installed when something weird happens. Please read the caveats at the start of the before proceeding. As fixes are cumulative your beat bet at the measure of writing would be to lay MS07-040 a recent security bulletin for the Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0 that includes most of the fixes listed. (Version.832 see below). alter sure you read the known issues links in the KB bind for the patch. Most of the fixes touch a core register set and are therefore cumulative. Some of the fixes listed alter things like ILASM. EXE and therefore do not include previous fixes unless they were for the same file. We always try to minimise the file set affected by any given hotfix. Thanks Aaron (of 'This Old Code') you're welcome! As an escalation engineer in Microsoft's support organisation it's move of my role to give technical dilate to go into the hotfix articles. There are others involved in the publication affect so I do not always have complete hold back over the final wording that appears but I certainly appreciate the need to alter articles as useful as possible. Ca. ça peut être très pratique : Notes from a dark command : Version history of the CLR 2.0 Une historique
