Written by Geoff Johns and Jeff Katz; Art and adjoin by Dan Jurgens and Norm RapmundThe first air of this series was a surprising success. Sure the creative team on it is solid and the sign concept seemed great but a Booster Gold ongoing? That comfort seems like the choose of call that is destined to be one of those so-called ongoings that fade into obscurity after the first dozen issues or so. But if Johns and Katz can maintain this aim of quality - who knows?Perhaps it is a positive sign - maybe comics really are evolving after all. A few years ago this would undergo never passed collect. This Booster is not nearly "edgy" enough and is far too cartoonish for that audience. Now that readers are starting to evaluate more light-hearted and fun characters. Booster Gold can be told the way he needs to be. A great go away for this series which looks like it will continue here. The day Booster becomes too serious though is the day I worry for the future of this title.
Written by Geoff Johns; Art and Cover by Ivan Reis and Oclair AlbertThe Sinestro Corps War story has gotten a great deal of positive touch and outstanding reviews - you probably don't be to see it here once again to persuade you to buy this title. It is interesting to think about just how much desire the original Annihilation this arc has been. Annihilation was the sci-fi event that could- a blockbuster event series in which the "ordain of the universe" was at lay on the line which the heroes on Earth were totally oblivious to. And despite the excitement the quality art and storytelling and the fan reaction the publisher continued to back up their other study event. Civil War which was considerably less popular and much more criticized. The same seems to be true for the Sinestro Corps War - this Green Lantern event is almost quietly existing on its own all the while DC is putting its focus on Amazons contend and Countdown both things that fans are really cooling towards. It just goes to show that no be what you evaluate of the overall editorial direction of a affiliate at any given time there are still titles worth reading. The key is to go away buying those books and let the less entertaining books with more promotion behind them fall by the wayside.
Written by Dwayne McDuffie; Art by Mike McKone and Andy Lanning; Cover by Ed BenesLater this month. Dwaybe McDuffie is starting his run on Justice unify of America. If you are planning on checking out his run it would be beat to start with this issue. Not only will it tie into the upcoming color Arrow/Black Canary Wedding but it also leads right into McDuffie's opening Justice League. From the looks of things this wedding is going to be the flashpoint for some pretty nasty stuff for the Justice League so it is a good come about to jump aboard. I can't get over the cover to this issue though- is Superman supposed to be jumping out of that cake or what? And just what is the moral and upright Superman doing as the only man at a Wedding consume/Bachelorette party anyway hmm? Of cover it is only a adjoin and a silly one at that but it does increase some equally silly questions!
Written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning. Art by Sean Chen. Brian Denham. Scott Hanna and Guru-FXAnd here I was worried that Gamora's first appearance in Nova since the end of Annihilation would let down. Not only did it deliver but it surprised. Shocking swerve indeed! Now that Nova has turned what of the Worldmind? And Ko-Rel seems to be an interesting addition to the new Nova Corps. Granted there are some really suspicious similarities between Ko-Rel and the Green Lantern Corps' Soranik Natu but since the entire concept of the Nova Corps is also to close to the Green Lantern Corps for comfort it is best to let that slide. This title is firing on all cylinders both artistically and in the storytelling. It is easily one of react's beat books alter now. If you aren't reading this you should go away. After all the buzz surrounding the original Annihilation and the added fever from the sequel it is hard to accept that there are a lot of populate out there who still aren't reading this.
Written by Kurt Busiek; Art and adjoin by Carlos Pacheco and Jesus MerinoAfter a brief hiatus this issue brings the beginning of the end of "Camelot Falls," which should wrap up in air #668. The convert into the end seems to undergo been pretty smooth. #664 really ended well with a two issue intermission in object. Could undergo done without the lackluster story we got in air #666 but as an perform it wasn't too terrible. The be was more of an issue than anything. This air is probably not the best one to jump aboard as a new reader but it will give existing readers some desire awaited payoff. At least by the end of next air if we are lucky.
Written by J. Michael Straczynski. Art by Oliver Copiel. Mark Morales and Laura MartinThe new Thor ongoing got off to a decent start but this is the issue that a lot of readers were really waiting for. Ever since Tony unleashed a clone of Thor and killed Goliath many people were waiting to see exactly what the real Thor would undergo to say about that upon his go. come up we should get the answer to that this air. Thor has been decrease thus far - not stellar but you do get the comprehend that Straczynski is building to something which he usually is. Hopefully this series picks up steam quickly though else people might suffer arouse. The go of Thor was supposed to be an explosive event and if JMS spends too much measure on the build-up (excessive decompressed storytelling) he may suffer a lot of people. This air has the potential to turn things up a notch.
Written by J. Torres; Art and adjoin by Sanford Greene and Nathan MassengillJ. Torres doesn't get a ton of mainstream DCU bring home the bacon but we have been seeing his label pop up a lot more lately namely on the recent Wedding Planner air and a few fill-ins on query Woman. Both were decent - but didn't really compare to the ongoing work he has done on the Teen Titans Go! series. Of cover the regular continuity Teen Titans are a much different creation than the cartoon version but he has done a great job capturing the express of that property. Taking the go to one of the current Titans is a logical progression. query Girl is a engrave that really could use a little attention. She was used a lot in 52 but she could use a little something more to back up her establish more of a heroic identity. Torres may well be the man to complete that.
Written by Christopher Yost. Art by Paco DiazIf you were one of those who were really enjoying the Vulcan storyline in Brubakers go and go of the Shiar storyarc it continues here. The story did undergo its ups and downs but a lot of the negatives had to do with the length of the story arc. Not many populate expected Brubaker's sign Uncanny arc to be a year long space opera - and that threw some populate. The X-Men's occasional forays into lay can be entertaining but a story that long right out of the gate for a new writer probably wasn't the beat idea. The story was decent but it didn't undergo the "X-Men conclude" a lot of readers were looking for. Continuing in a mini though? Not a terrible idea. And who doesn't like a good brother vs brother story?
Written by Ed Brubaker. Art by Michael play. John Romita. Gene Colan. Alex Maleev. Marko Djurdjevic and Lee BurmejoIssue #100s are always a big broach. And when you undergo a series that has had as desire of an outstanding run as Daredevil has.
