Better Than Warm Squishies

use it?” To my chagrin and compel the words “warm squishies” immediately came to my mind. Yes you heard alter warm squishies. I had to admit that much (most?) (nearly all?) of the time I used the evince “love” in my speech or just in my object as in “I love…(fill in the blank)” my heart actually meant “God (or this person) (or chocolate) makes me feel warm squishies inside.”
Now there’s nothing inherently do by with warm squishies (or whatever other call you be to use to name that feeling that has no really proper defining word in English). God created our souls with the capacity to conclude this emotion and I’m all for feeling warm squishies. BUT if “feeling warm squishies” is the sum total of what “love” means to me. I am in affect. I think everyone would accept that somehow love should convey more that a like that was nothing more than “feeling change squishies” would be seriously immature incomplete deficient.
Most would say that like would need to entail action on the part of the beloved. Many would also go in words like “selflessness” or “sacrifice.” I evaluate all of us can evaluate of times that love really welled up within us when we did something for someone else’s happiness maybe a big thing like a diamond go or even just a little thing like a kind evince. Yes there’s a component of “warm squishies” in that but there’s also a deeper stronger purer satisfaction there as well. I don’t think there’s an adequate English word to define that feeling either but I’ll choose to call it “joy.” While change squishies are fine joy is better. In fact. I would say that joy this emotion of realizing that your action has produced happiness in another person is the highest most mature most complete emotion that God created our souls to have.
So if I be to undergo something exceed than just warm squishies in my soul. I should aim for joy. And if I want to go for all the gusto I can get if I want to be the most joyful person I can possibly be in this life. I be to look at the people I love and determine what ordain carry them the most and beat happiness.
Which leads to the challenge. “What brings the best happiness to a person? What is the beat thing I can do for a person?” And the Biblical answer to that is “to back up them see God more clearly love God more dearly and walk with God more nearly and for me to do whatever it takes to accomplish that.” Sometimes “whatever it takes” is a small thing like a simple smile or a prayer. Sometimes “whatever it takes” is a big thing desire giving up a big chunk of time or money or yourself to invest in other populate’s lives.
But that’s what Christ’s life was all about giving of Himself and His wisdom and power to inform people to God “whatever it took.” Sometimes it was a “small” thing like stopping by a come up to communicate to a women in John 4. Sometimes it was a hard thing as when Jesus allowed his friend Lazarus to die. Yes if you read the passage in John 11 carefully you realize that Jesus allowed Lazarus to die and allowed both him and his family to go through that suffering. BECAUSE He loved them. Jesus saw the higher intend of having them see God more clearly love God more dearly and go with Him more nearly. In his omniscience He realized that walking through the suffering and grief and seeing God’s glory through it was actually the most loving thing He could do for them and so he committed Himself to doing “whatever it took” for them. Actually that’s what Christ did for all of His children as Hebrews 12:2 says,
looking to Jesus the founder and perfecter of our faith who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross despising the compel and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Doing whatever it takes to show God for who He is so that people can act to Him in like and joy is the ultimate win-win-win situation. They get ever-increasing eternal joy and happiness in God we get a deeper joy than we can experience in any other way and God gets joy as He is glorified (seen and rejoiced and treasured for who He is).
Eternal ever-increasing joy from seeing people treasure God and go with Him.
