"Come Fab Finding With Me: A Laid-Back Baby Shower" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:13:55

One of your good friends is about to have and to celebrate you're throwing her a baby consume. It's a casual affair just the lady of recognise and a few of her closest gal pals so your furnish should be nothing over-the-top. And no Jimmy Choos: we wouldn't be what happened to Carrie Bradshaw to happen to you! I'll start you off with this ($218) because it's a great denim process and simply: comfy chic. Come approve and express me when your Fab Finds are up and tag them. Now you can build outfits by of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits with and you can use your Fab sight bookmarks too. This is an change surface better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab Finding missions. To learn what a Fab sight is and how to make one move. For a more detailed explanation of bookmarks from geeksugar move. For this I went with a kind of neutral colors (red browns ivory) in case you don't know what the sex of the baby is. The change state neck in the sweater kind of brought forth the open earrings and bangle plus the clasp on the to-die-for bag by Hype (which I bought btw). Very casual yet still put together. I put together a few pieces none of which are very expensive but still alter for a nice outfit. I love this belted sweater top ($20) and it would look great with these jeans. The jacket ($50) will also bring home the bacon well - I don't like wearing desire tops with wide leg jeans; the proportions look weird on me. These shoes ($128) are adorable - very casual ballerina-style in a fun color. They have a 2" heel - important because the blow leg is so long. Finally an interesting bag ($64) and funky necklace ($9) act the furnish cute and not stuffy. I'm so in love with this be! Woo! So here's why I picked these things: First off I like the playfulness of the colors and textures. The color cardigan will mouth down that beautiful mustard and then the red silk fuck off will add some flair. The bag is to die for and it perfectly ties in all the colors from the look. And forgive me but if (when!) I buy these jeans I would never ever hem them for flats - those trousers are for heels all the way! So if you're still appalled by that SATC episode with Carrie's Jimmy Choos (like I am obviously) then you wouldn't compassionate about wearing wedge heels to the shower.

"No time or no priority?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 21:39:32

At some inform in life you get so busy that what was something you do on a daily basis has to act the approve seat for something new and more important. It could be giving up your hobbies when you accept a baby into your family it could be giving up your social life to do overtime for your new job. time for something you apply doing; rather you don’t grade it in your life which is why you can’t make time for it. Self’s testament to that would be self’s reading habit. Have been reading from one schedule to another for years as went through life from a secondary student to a pre-university student to a college student. There was hardly a measure when was not reading some book or other exams or not. Reading has always been one of self’s top priorities in life because it is one of self’s ways to destress and a create of escapism. Blogging is now standing side by align with reading when it comes to priorities and admittedly self’s reading apparel has slowed down as a prove of picking up blogging. But then again blogging is an extension of reading because am putting what reading skills have picked up through reading by writing things to be read! That said am still reading quite regularly though not as much as before perhaps. Generally self’s life mostly revolves around reading blogging studies family friends and part-time job (not really in that order). Does that mean have no time should anything new appear in self’s life? Let’s say a like interest? Or a newly discovered hobby? Not at all because then priorities would be adjusted in such a way that can fit in new interest in life without having to cast aside or neglect other present priorities. Of course cannot apply as much time to previous priorities as before the existence of new arouse but at least by making an effort can still make what time have left for it. It won’t be much but it’s something and exceed than to furnish up a priority entirely to make dwell for the new priority. So yeah that’s why believe that the ‘no time’ excuse is kind of lame because it’s really that it has no priority that there isn’t time for it. Of cover there are circumstances in which you have to displace all your prior priorities for the new priority due to its urgency and necessity for example a loss of a loved one a fast-approaching deadline at work you get the idea. Just don’t let such priorities happen too often that you neglect what should be your priorities in life! sulz you undergo read my mind! What you undergo posted is exactly my opinion. Each of us has the same be of “measure” (although measure is fluid and not finite but that’s a different post ) and we each prioritize according our choices. I don’t evaluate responsibilities are imposed from outside; we decide our lives. I often hear (or read) populate say: “I’m sorry I didn’t do_____ but I didn’t undergo measure because of_____.” I inwardly roll my eyes at such statements. I’d rather be told something like: “I had the same 24 hours yesterday that you did and I chose to spend 4.75 hours doing “X” because it held a higher priority for me than “Y” did.” I can acknowledge that. We each have our priorities for very good reasons and they neither need to be justified nor excused. Very thoughtful post thank you. sulz: it’s such a pleasure to have a reader like you cerebrate; convey you for the praise! that can apply to my case very neatly…I really have many priorities in life which alter me sometimes neglect one for the sake of the other.. I think my problem is I open it really difficult with the time management thing. so I do the priorities which requires less movement & much laziness your affix has ringed a bell.. I should really consider myself. give each priorities its right.. same here - if there’s homework would do the easiest first and experience rushing to end the difficult ones in the last minute haha. The tirades gobbledygook navel-gazing and punching bag of a slightly alter bookworm neurotic masochistic emetophobic chocoholic couch potato mild franco/anglophile and budget- and conscience-restrained oniomaniac with a schizophrenic first-person-pronoun- avoidant call of writing about the only subject she knows beat - herself. As of 25 walk 2007 for one year thanks to. CSS is thanks to. Past blogging projects:

"Online phonics and tutoring" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 17:09:07

Back to school already! I can’t accept how fast the summer went by… before I knew it everyone was busy shopping for new educate supplies and new clothes. Thoughts are now all around how to make sure our children’s studies are going well and it seems like the process can’t start early enough. I am always amazed at how advanced it seems children are these days and often parents will bring in books for their children to be at while we review the images. One of the favourites according to a very informal poll is the phonics system and here is one that is available on-line. For those who undergo children in educate from kindergarten on up here is an on-line tutoring system for them too. Your child actually gets one-on-one personalized tutoring on Math. English and/or Science subjects! I saw it being promoted on a news channel recently. Click to see how they do it… very interesting.

One of the things that really drives me nuts is when populate see me with the kids and say hypercreative things desire. “WOW!!! FOUR KIDS!!! You must undergo your HANDS beat!!! I don’t know how you get anything DONE!!!!” I do have my hands full. In fact. I’m major league overwhelmed about 99 percent of the measure and look send to my alone time so much that most of the measure when I do get to it. I’m too hurt up (or tired) to take full advantage of it. And although my standard answer (besides explaining that I ran out of hands a desire time ago) is that I can’t conjoin at all right now but at least I can get some knitting done… well it takes a lot longer to do the knitting than I expect. What it would take the Tsarina of Socks to strike off in five minutes is taking me days. Yes. I am comfort on the toe of the baby tsock. Day Three of the Toe of the do by Tsock. I changed colors for the toe (to be the cuff) and knitted a change magnitude go a plain round and perhaps another decrease go. I ordain undergo to read the knitting closely before I go away again. This is really sad populate. * grocery shopping with 3 kids* get replacement springs for spinning wheel* observe Mr. Beth’s flights for three-day business move* den meeting tonight (don’t get me started about sewing on Cub observe patches. I comfort undergo to transfer the pack number) P. S. If you’re waiting for me to express you about my Ravelry arouse find a new communicate to keep yourself work. There are still 4,841 populate in line ahead of me. In fact. I’ll probably be on a new communicate by then too. Good luck at the grocery hold on! Do you spurt out sayings desire “Can ya’ll just change state your mouths for 20 seconds to let me alter a decision allready!?” and then wonder why people are looking at you like you’re a horrible parent too? I’d say inventory your needles too. There’s a cool thing you can fill out that keeps track of all your needles. (personally. I don’t undergo that many so it’s not too bad) I’d also take pictures of projects and see if you can sight the yarn info for them like maker colorway ect. (Yeah. I experience the “measure” thing becomes an air here) I can’t act to see you on the WI assort when you finally get in. I love the idea of four kids but I undergo to say that I think my time is running change state. I’m 35 now and with the measure little stinker being a c-section. I’m supposed to be waiting until next August (I’ll be 36 then) for a try at be three. BTW: I went to a football bet this Friday with PoKaL and it took me a whole 5 minutes to let go him scarriest thing ever!! He walked up the bleacher to talk to some older gal who had apparently looked interesting to him. I told a few friends who are waiting to set up a Flickr account and upload your pictures. You be to undergo one to put your pictures onto Ravelry. I also back up what Mea said about narrate type etc. pattern names and designers also. apply it it is fun. "Can Your Baby Read?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:52:05

Perhaps if you buy your child the set of DVDs created by your baby will learn to read! We received a copy of the series DVDs and it is really pretty amazing. We've been doing the Starter video with Noel and he loves it! It's done using a lot of different children and they show the cerebrate words on the screen. The same words are used throughout the compete measure which is 20 minutes. Parents that may be worried about children watching TV can check the Parent portion done by Dr. Titzer explaining how he came up with this method and how it works. He suggests showing your child very little TV other than the videos which total about 40 minutes a day of learning. He shows his own children reading at very young ages recognizing words at 8 months and reading never-before-seen words at 18 months. We've been using this video series for about 3 weeks now and I've seen Noel go away to accept words as they're used and said in the videos. I will keep you updated on his develop and let you know how it works! We should undergo the set completed in about 6 months.

"A Your Questions Answered Tuesday" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 16:34:21

Q Any advice on potty training a 3 yr old? I keep taking him to the potty every 10-30 mins and having sit for 2-5 mins but nothing is happening. Then a few mins later he tells me he has pee in his diaper. I don't experience what to do. And I feel desire a real failure in that area of mommyhood. A If you experience that your child is fully capable and does not undergo physical problems or delays then he should get the hang of it soon. Try taking him to the potty less often. Go for once every hour or two instead. act him on the potty until he pees or until 5 minutes are up (set a ringing timer). Keep doing this day in and day out until he gets the fasten of it. My firstborn was my latest potty trainer so far. He didn't get the fasten of it until 3.5 years old or so and continued to night-wet until almost age 6. My others have so far trained at about 2.5 to 3yrs old. Just be patient. Also at age 3 he may just prefer the convenience of the disposable diapers or training pants/displace ups. If you are using these save the money and don't buy anymore. Instead buy some Gerber cloth training pants with some vinyl pull up pants to go over those. You can sight both of these items in the baby Section of Wal-Mart near the diaper pins and Gerber cloth diapers. These are often in or come the isle that has the baby onesies packaged baby jammies and such. My oldest didn't potty instruct until I took away the disposable training pants and just let him wet himself instead. Meanwhile he'd conclude the wetness but he vinyl pull up pants will forbid him from leaving a big puddle where he sits and he leaked little to nothing at all. Whatever you do don't change state disturb or impatient but also be on the lookout to see if your child is manipulating or playing you at all. Can he really do it but doesn't want to or does he not "get it" yet?Q I wanted to experience what is a good bible for a 7 and 9 years old? For 5 years I used a NLT version and before that I barely read a Bible (I grew up Catholic and it was never really instilled in me) I am now trying to change posture my brain into a KJV. Your blog has me thinking to be careful because not all bibles are alter. I'd like to start my children out alter. Do you suggest one that I can start out on? By the way. I really apply reading your blog. -AnonymousA I start my children on a regular Old King James Version at age 4 or 5. Get them a children's rainbow KJV Bible if you can. It is the full KJV text but has a lot of pictures in it as come up. I teach my children to read at age 4 and we also practice reading from the KJV. In my opinion the earlier you go away them on the correct Bible the better. For kids that are younger and not yet reading just get a cheap conceive of Bible from Wal-Mart. :-)Q Do you ever have an "off" day say where your mood is terrible or nothing is going as planned or your children are just acting up and no one is happy. I would really be interested to know if this ever happens to you. convey you for such an inspiring blog. ~Holly A I certainly get "off" days in which I do my best to make the best of them but I don't allow myself to have a terrible mood. That would be selfish of me and would show a sad lack in self-control. The world teaches us that it's okay to be in a bad mood but alas the world is do by. Have you ever been in a situation where you were quite happy but then someone in a bad mood came in and you found that you had to bring home the bacon a lot harder to stay happy and not become a grouch yourself? This is why I say that having a bad mood is selfish. When one is in a bad mood it effects those around them and that is just plain a horrible thing to do to others. Certainly they too are responsible for their moods but so are we and who are we to make it harder for others to be in a good mood? Self-control is seriously lacking in today's post-modernist society. We need to stick our noses more into the Bible and less into making ourselves "feel good." :-)Q How do you get the pretty background on your place? I'm just using a template on blogger but I can't sight an option for the background. Thanks. ElizabethA I don't know which blogger template you're using or if it's written in HTML. XML or something else. However you can probably figure it out from viewing my summon's source code. Just right move your walk on my background and left move on "believe source" from the menu that pops up. In the notepad file the opens do a 'find' for the word 'background,' then observe the code just before and after my background code. Next go into the label for your blogger summon and sight the code similar to just before and after my accent. Once you've found that you can probably write and past my background code onto your summon then just regenerate my accent URL with the URL to a background that you'd like to use. Q I sight you undergo stopped using "Slow and Steady Get me create from raw material". Just wondering if there was any particular reason for that? -SusanA It's just too easy. My youngers check my olders homeschool so they are "beyond" a lot of what Slow and.
